2016

2016 Goals

-prayer
I have noticed that I have become easily anxious and worrisome throughout the last year. I believe that prayer and trust will lead me through those times. I am working through the Val Marie prayer journal ,which I love!

-pay it forward
I have really felt the need to be more generous with my time and money. I decided to do a activity every month to pay it forward. I really want to encourage others to pay it forward. You never know how something so little can be just what someone needs in that moment. It is also so rewarding to do these random acts of kindness. I plan to blog my monthly RAOK as I go.

-focus
I have always had a lot of interests and hobbies but I am really trying to narrow down my passion and focus. This is partly for the blog but also for my life.

-health
I am really going to try and make some healthy recipes and make them staples in the Hutson Home. We recently made spaghetti squash and loved it. Then the holidays happened and we haven't been back in our routine. I am so looking forward to a routine.

-declutter
It still amazes me that we have 2 people living in a 4 bedroom house and it is almost full. When we moved into our house I really wanted to go through everything but with the timing of the move and that fact that I was working out of town at the time it just didn't happen. I recently posted about the 2016 in 2016 challenge. This is will be my inspiration to keep going through out the year.

Top Nine for 2015

2015 had some great memories but I am looking forward to 2016!

2016 in 2016

Something you might not know about me is that I like to keep things. You might even find me on Hoarders Buried Alive one day. Just kidding, I don't think it is that bad yet... I like to hold onto things that will help me remember certain events or dates but I also like to hold onto things just incase I might need it one day. Y'all, this is where the problem lies. I like to think of myself as an organizer. I love to organize things, especially for other people, but when it comes to my house I think I get overwhelmed easily. I have been wanting to clean out my house for a while.

I started reading The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo and has giving me the inspiration that I needed. I also recently found out about the 2015 in 2015 challenge. It was a little late for me to start so I waited to participate in the 2016 in 2016 challenge. This challenge is brought on by Nourishing Minimalism where you try and declutter 2016 items in your house in the year 2016. This can be done  individually or as a family. She suggests that each person in your family use a different color pen to cross out the boxes. Then you can see who got rid of the most stuff.

I went ahead and got a jump start on the challenge and got rid of about 60 things today as I was cleaning up my office. To be able to complete the challenge you need to declutter about 168 items a month. Once you get started, it is so easy! I plan to work room by room to get rid of things I no longer need.

Who wants to join me in this challenge? Let me know!
